Synopsis For many years now, Lekker Amsterdam has been an important guide for gourments in which food writer and restaurant critic Johannes van Dam tells us where to go for a delcious dinner in the city. We don’t intend to keep all this information to ourselves, though, so for the benefit of English speaking residents and visitors we decided to publish the present English version, with an additional explanatory introduction to typically Dutch goodies and their histories. Van Dam concludes by giving his strict but fair judgement of restaurants and delis and a listing of good shops at which all sorts of savoury foodstuffs may be obtained.
