The English Bookshop is a working bookshop with an active literary community. One of the key features of the shop is our partnership with "wordsinhere", an established Amsterdam literary group that offers workshops for aspiring and working writers. "wordsinhere" offers a range of writing workshops at The English Bookshop, including poetry and fiction groups. There are workshops for both the novice and experienced writer and there are both short intensive workshops and longer, more extensive, writing courses. "wordsinhere" also hosts a number of critique groups at the bookshop, including a poetry and novel group. These critic groups are informal and an ideal place to have your on-going work evaluated by other members of the local community.
